Not Yet....

It's been a busy week, but in the very best sense. Over 100 family members descended on our little town to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. They met in junior high in Downey, California and Mom would poke Dad's neck with her pencil in French class. I'd say that's as good as start as any. 50 years! Isn't that impressive? I'm immensely proud of my 14 years; only 36 more to go. I've had houseguests-13 of them to be exact. My favorites are the littlest guests, like my two month old nephew Davy, and my 5 month old niece Sunny. I wish the babies would move in permanently. Some of my houseguests left yesterday, and some have lingered longer. It will be one more day of celebration around here. And that is why I say not yet.

Chocolate Souffle? Not yet. (Hopefully tonight)

Clean House? Not yet. (Maybe sometime in the next decade)

School for the kids? Not yet. (Tomorrow definitely)

50 years of marriage? Not yet. (In 2045, fingers crossed)

Be back tonight with that chocolate souffle....

Congrats to the folks! They should seriously write a book (along with you kids) full of funny stories, recipes, LA farm life experiences, and how to clean a neck properly - I hear Spray 'N Wash works wonders. What a graet family you have Prudy! :)

Happy 50th Anniversary to your parents!!!
Today is my mama and daddy's 53 wedding anniversary. We had such a good time planning and having their 50 anniversary party 3 years ago.

congrats to some of my favorite people in the world.
jared and i celebrated 12 years of marriage this weekend. and by celebrated, i mean we did lots of house and yard work and had a baby blessing and hosted family for a luncheon and hosted a neighborhood ice cream party and rarely had a moment alone together! but i look forward to the next 38 and beyond.

Happy anniversary to your parents! How wonderful! Sounds like a perfect family weekend - the souffle can wait (but it is awfully good, whenever you get to it!)

Wow that is so great! I have such fond memories of you parents back in Whittier. My favorite was the sourdough bread your mom made in the dutch oven at Girls camp. Send them my love.

Congrats to Mom & Dad; we only have 20 more to go to that magical milestone. Remember, my answer to clean house is "sorta"; as long as the kids are around, the answer, sadly, is never truly "Yes!"

Must be anniversary season! Last month was my parent's 51st and my 13th. Sounds like you've had a fabulous time - definitely worth waiting a little more time for a souffle, and MOST definitely worth a messy home.

Mom's comment was my favorite.
She has the best sense of humor.
It was a great weekend!
Mom and I had so many good laughs late at night. It felt like old Education Week Days.
We are so lucky. Theres'nobody better than Mom and Dad.
