I love the Thanksgiving Dinner but I must admit my favorite part is the after party. I love when I can finally get in my pajamas, sit down, watch a Christmas Movie, and just enjoy the fact that my kitchen is finally clean and that my work is done. Throw in a turkey sandwich and that sounds just wonderful to me. Glad you had such a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing the pictures!
i love thnksgiving, but i also love the laziness of the long weekend as it stretches out before me. the only thing better is the week between christmas and new years'!
We only had 26 this year and it was just fine. Missed those that didn't come. How fun and loud it is when you have 40. Families are such a blessing. Glad your day was so awesome! Love your little ones.
Thanks for the help with the Crockpot Turkey. I ended up using thyme instead of sage and no cranberries due to what was in my cupboard and it still turned out great. Thank you, thank you, thank you...
Wow, 40! That even trumps one with my husband's family a few years ago (he's 10 of 11 kids), but we had 33 at dinner and I thought that was A LOT! ;) Fun times. We just had our little family yesterday (we dont' live near any family). And shhh, I haven't even finished dishes yet. ;) Have a great more restful weekend.
I only had my own little family of 5 but I was still in the kitchen for 8 hours. 40 would surely kill me.
I did want to pop in and give you praise and adoration. I followed your turkey/gravy tutorial and I was so nervous about my first EVER turkey but it was EASILY the BEST turkey I have ever eaten. My husband agreed wholeheartedly. We usually don't like turkey until the next day when it is on soft bread and slathered in mayo, but this turkey was yummy enough to steal the show all by itself. SO,SO GOOD! I am so thankful that you shared your Thanksgiving wisdom.
Oh, and I made the brown bag pie twice this week. So easy, and definitely a new favorite. I can't believe anyone rolls pie crust after making that pie.
Let's see...Thanksgiving...I'm grateful for Prudence Pennywise. I've been following this blog for a little over a year, and in that time you have taught me that food doesn't have to be an afterthought, but it can be fun and inspiring and can bring me joy instead of draining me. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
YOu're brave. I hosted my family for Christmas last year - about 16 people - and it took me two days to clean up. Of course, I have 7 little brothers, so that may be part of the mess... http://complicatedday.blogspot.com/
