If you missed any posts this weekend, scroll down for Mint Syrup, a Musical Debate, and a Father's Day Menu including....The father of our home almost didn't get
any of these.
Not one. My two little nut eschewers chewed them all up. I didn't want to stop them because I feel they are making progress in their journey to becoming nut-loving fools like their mother. So, I made another batch. I should have doubled it, because these sweet and spicy honey lacquered babies are addictive. Put them out in a little bowl next to some black olives, and you've got the nibbles covered for Father's Day. And make extra, because even people who claim they don't like nuts might just go nuts for Spicy Honey Pecans.
Spicy Honey PecansEstimated Cost: $2.50
Notes: Any type of nut, or even mixed nuts, would work well here. My backyard neighbors have a pecan tree that drops free nuts right onto our lawn. 1 cup pecans
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon sugar
pinch of cayenne
1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 350. In a small bowl, mix all ingredients. Place on foil-lined cookie sheet that has been coated with no-stick cooking spray. Bake for five minutes. Stir nuts with fork to separate. Bake an additional eight minutes. Stir with fork and let cool. (Nuts will crisp as they cool)
Coming Tomorrow:Father's Day Dessert from Tuesdays with Dorie

Prudy,
These look so delicious! I can't wait to try these! And thankyou so much for keeping your wonderful music! I was so afraid you were going to turn it off! Thankyou!
I love the sound of these nuts! I'm all for your music too! I love the picture of the woman on top explaining what to do if you don't like it, too cute!
I'm for the music!! It suits your blog's style...and it puts me in a happy mood. We're nuts about spiced nuts in our house.
Yes, keep the music! I'm going to figure out how to do the same on my blog, but probably with reallllly annoying music! I am loving all your recent posts! Love the Daddy pic!
And the nuts! Love 'em!
I love your music! My kids want to listen to it all the time. These nuts sound great. I have a similar recipe from the Union Square cafe that also has rosemary in it.
Yum! I'm jealous of that tree.
i wonder if my house would enjoy these. we tend to eschew cayenne--but i'm tempted to try it out.
These sounds awesome! Can't wait to try them out!
This is great! I grew up on a pecan farm and I wish I had this recipe when pecans were coming out of our ears!
