Ringing in a New Year

Before we toss out the butter and the cream, I wanted to show you my New Year's Appetizer Party. It's just the kind of food that we swear off in January. Good bye spinach and garlic stuffed mushrooms.
Sweet Chili meatballs, it was nice knowin' ya.
My Dad's cottage cheese dip. We won't say good-bye. Just au revoir. Cottage cheese dip, you're invited to the Super Bowl party.Baked brie with French Bread and blackberry jam. I'll miss you.
Hot Jalapeno Popper Dip. We were just getting to know each other.
Veggies and Sweet Curry Dip. You might be allowed to hang around still.
Chips and Salsa. I could never, ever give you up.
Teeny-Tiny Chocolate Chip Cookies. They're kind of harmless, don't you think? Never mind the fact that I can eat 87 in one sitting.
See how innocent they look in the hand of a five year old niece?

Happy New Year! There are lots of good, healthy dishes waiting around the corner. (And plenty of bad-for-you food too. I gotta be me.
And one more thing before I go. Take a look at the snow we woke up to yesterday. I live in the desert. Those are palm trees that you see covered in snow.

PS This is my parent's pool. This is where we hang out in the summer when we have days that are approximately 100 degrees hotter than yesterday.
Be back soon with fiber and antioxidants.

Snow in the desert...

We got snow 4 times in MS last year, that was weird too.

Yummy pictures! I thinking those stuffed mushrooms would be delicious for Super Bowl (and they are veggies,so that makes them okay). Enjoy your snow!

I looked all over for your cottage cheese dip recipe for new years eve. I finally just tried my own approximation. It was good, but something was off. do you have it posted somewhere?

Could you post the recipes for the Jalapeno Popper dip, stuffed mushrooms and the cottage cheese dip? Everything looks so yummy!

I've never tried to make stuffed mushrooms but I love to eat them. They look soooo hard to do.

This is the worst thing you could have posted today. I am trying to be all good and disciplined (starting yesterday) since me and Seth are having a little competition. Yesterday was fine because I was excited to make a healthy change, but today I am sore from attempting to exercise and hungry from attempting to eat rabbit food. If I look at this post any longer I will surely throw in the towel and go back to my old ways. I mean, these resolutions never see the first of February anyway, right?

I will say that I have added plenty of healthy/yummy Prudy recipes to this weeks dinner menu. That is what is so great about your blog. You offer us a little bit of everything. But oh man, I want popper dip and mushrooms and 87 little chocolate chip cookies.

Mmmmm....Maybe I'll just copy your New Year's party for my Super Bowl Party. :) The meatballs look delicious. I'll have to search your blog to see if I can find what you marinated them with.

Oh, your appetizers look so good.
I better get up to visit next New year's Eve.
I loved you bidding farewell to all the appetizers and can hardly believe it snowed.
