Blushing Chicken-not a recipe, that's me.

Do you like to hear your voice on the answering machine?
Then I have a hunch you won't want to watch yourself on TV. I can't watch.
But you can watch, if you want to, by clicking here.
No pressure. I think I will make some more spice rubbed chicken tonight for the busy week ahead.
Thank you all for being such dear reader friends. I'm overwhelmed by your kind comments. I'm going to go hide in the closet and blush for a few hours. I'll be back to share more recipes when my face isn't red anymore.

  1. What a wonderful little video. I'm definitely adding this recipe to my Prudence Pennywise folder.

Bless your heart for what you do for your family, and in sharing all these recipes with the world.

  3. It was fun to see the person behind the blog. (And I can relate; I can't think of too many things worse than being on TV, that's why I like blogging!)

  6. I don't like to hear my own voice on the answering machine, so I always pretend it's one of my sisters talking. However. . .if I could go on TV and be as beautiful and charming and as you just were I would watch every day just to boost my confidence. But you're humility is certainly one of your charms. =D

  13. Hi Erin,

I was sitting at the dentist office with the kids and saw the September issue of Rachael Ray with the darling West and his beautiful mom right there on the glossy pages. How fun! I see on your twitter you are headed to the Big Apple in a couple weeks...I'm going in a couple of weeks, too...maybe our paths will cross-sure hope so :-)

  15. Great job!

This is funny...I make a rub with 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons paprika, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 1/2 teaspoons each black pepper, cumin, chili powder and salt. I'll have to try adding the coriander.

I make it up in batches and keep it in a jar. I recently did the grilled chicken and purposely had leftovers to make into quesadillas.

I haven't tried it on beef yet, but it's good on pork. Also, I sprinkled some on buttered corn on the cob. Very good!

  18. Prudy - You are a natural! Great job, I can relate to being a little self-conscious; I don't even like to see myself on home videos! But remember you are your worst critic! Made the chicken last night, my 13-year old son tasted the first bite & exclaimed, "It's genius!!" Loved it! Tonight we'll do the sandwiches for a quick-n-easy - along with some pesto pasta (made with Quiet Man Senior's abundant basil...I know...you're jealous!). Miss you, see you in the fall?

  19. Just had to add that the mini BBQ chicken sandwiches were AMAZING!!! Such an EASY, upscale meal - we all loved them! This would be a great entertaining main dish - grill the chicken in the AM & assemble the sandwiches quickly before guests arrive - then pop in the broiler. Love, love, love them!!!! What would we do without you & your inspiration! Apricot jam & smoky BBQ sauce...wow!
